Owner-Uprising Paddleboard Co.

Some of my earliest memories are of the beach and the ocean. it is my happy place. My story began in New Jersey in a small town on the shore where my youth was predominantly spent going to the beach and surfing. When I reached adulthood I moved a few times, but I always made sure the ocean was nearby. Cocoa Beach, FL. and St. John in the US Virgin Islands are two places where I found a deep connection with the ocean and nature. As I reached my late 20’s, I decided to finish my college degree. I put my board shorts away and moved west to Eugene, Oregon in pursuit of a degree in Art/Photography from the University of Oregon. Eugene lies About 60 miles from the Pacific ocean. this was the farthest I have ever lived from the ocean.

I hiked to pristine waterfalls, swam in crystal clear rivers and lakes to get my water fix, and i occasionally even found time to take a trip to the oregon coast. just half a decade after I finished school, I started a family and embarked on a career in sales. Between being a father and the stress of maintaining a successful sales position, I had to be creative and find a way to get back that connection with nature and the water. My kids were now entering school and i had a little more time for myself, so I bought an inflatable paddleboard. I could toss it in the trunk of my honda and hit a lake or river after a long stressful work day. I was hooked immediately. I felt almost like i was being re-introduced to a long lost companion. Memories of surfing, kayaking and even snowboarding and skating flooded back in to my memory. Then I noticed after long paddles how much of an amazing core work out it was and I was doubly hooked! in my early 40’s The stoke was alive in me once again.

Uprising Paddleboard Co. was born to create a community and lifestyle for paddlers here in the Pacific NW. A community where we not only enjoy the outdoors, but live our lives more sustainably so we can build a better life and environment for future generations.
